Demolition
and strip-outs.

Every renovation starts with taking something apart, and how that part goes decides how the rest of the job runs. ELG handles interior strip-outs, wall removals, garage and shed teardowns, and site clearing with the same crew that builds what comes next, so nothing gets wrecked that should have stayed.

You get an itemized fixed-price quote before anything comes down, bins and disposal built into the line items, and permits handled for you. Licensed, WSIB-registered, and careful around the parts of your home that are staying.

What the job includes

  • Interior and selective demolition for kitchen, bathroom, and full-home renovations
  • Load-bearing wall removal with engineered beams and permits
  • Garage, shed, deck, and fence teardowns
  • Dust barriers, floor protection, and daily site cleanup
  • Utility disconnect coordination and safe strip-out of plumbing and electrical
  • Bins, debris hauling, and recycling included as line items

Demolition is where surprise costs usually hide. Because our quote is itemized and our crews open up buildings every week, what we find behind the drywall gets dealt with in daylight, priced and approved before work continues.

Questions

Demolition questions.

Do I need a permit for demolition?

Interior work that leaves the structure alone usually does not need one. Anything structural, and any standalone teardown like a garage, does. We pull the permits and book the inspections so the job never sits waiting on paperwork.

What about asbestos in older homes?

Homes built before roughly 1990 can hide it in flooring, drywall compound, and insulation. We arrange testing before work starts, and licensed abatement crews handle removal when it turns up. There are no shortcuts on this one.

Can you remove just one wall?

Yes. If it is load-bearing, we bring the engineering, the beam, and the permit, not just the sledgehammer. Openings get sized and supported properly so the rest of the renovation lands on solid structure.

Who hauls away the debris?

We do. Bins, hauling, and recycling are line items in your quote, so nothing sits in your driveway longer than it needs to and there is no surprise disposal bill at the end.

What does demolition cost?

Quoted line by line after a walk-through, based on what is coming out, how we can access it, and what disposal involves. No catch-all lines that get billed up later.
