Excavation
and grading.

The dig decides the build. Basement walkouts, foundations for additions and garden suites, drainage fixes, and trenching all start below grade, and mistakes down there are the expensive kind. ELG runs excavation with the same discipline as the build that follows: locates booked, engineering in hand, and one contract covering the dig and what comes after it.

You get an itemized fixed-price quote before the first bucket of soil moves, hauling and backfill built into the line items, and a crew that treats your property like they have to come back tomorrow. Because they do.

What the job includes

Licensed and WSIB-registered, with the engineering, permits, and inspections handled for you. The same crews and the same accountability that earned ELG a 5.0 rating across 40+ Google reviews.

Questions

Excavation questions.

Can you dig a basement walkout or separate entrance?

Yes, and it is one of the most requested digs in the GTA. The entrance gets engineered, permitted, and waterproofed before backfill, and because we also build, the stairs, door, and finishing land under the same contract as the dig.

What happens with utility lines?

Locates get booked before any machine touches soil. Gas, water, sewer, and electrical are marked, and we work carefully around anything live. That step is not optional and we never skip it.

Can equipment get into a tight Toronto lot?

Usually yes. Compact machines fit through most side yards, and where they cannot, we plan the dig around what access really allows instead of guessing. Access is one of the things we confirm at the walk-through.

Where does the soil go?

Hauling and disposal are line items in your quote, and backfill and compaction are scheduled so the site is not sitting open any longer than it has to. Nothing gets left in a pile on your lawn.

What does excavation cost?

Quoted line by line after a site visit. Depth, access, soil conditions, and disposal set the number, and you see each of those on paper before anything is booked.
