Which flooring works best in a basement or kitchen?
For a basement or any spot near water, vinyl plank and porcelain tile hold up best because moisture does not swell them. Kitchens do well with tile or a good vinyl plank. Hardwood and engineered wood suit living areas and bedrooms. We walk the rooms and tell you what fits each one.
What if the subfloor is uneven or damaged?
We check the subfloor before any new floor goes down. If it is uneven, we level it. If a section is rotted or water-damaged, we cut it out and replace it. A floor laid over a bad subfloor will telegraph every dip and squeak, so we fix it first.
Do you move the furniture?
Yes. We move the furniture out of the rooms we are working in and put it back when the floor is done. Clear out small and fragile items yourself and we handle the rest.
How long does flooring installation take?
A single room is usually a day or two. A full main floor runs several days, more if the subfloor needs work or there are stairs and a lot of transitions. You get a real schedule with the quote, not a guess.
What does flooring installation cost?
